UAI 2016 - Travel and Local Info

Map of UAI locations includes the conference hotel, nearby hotels, restaurants and airports.

How to get to the venue

There are three major airports in the metro NYC area. The Newark Liberty International Airport is the closest and most convenient airport traveling to the conference venue, about 20-30min driving. JFK International Airport and LaGuardia Airport are on the other side of Manhattan, so the driving time depends heavily on traffic conditions. All three airports have public transportation available. The following is a list of possible commute options and time estimates. More options can be found through Google Maps.

From Newark Liberty International Airport

Taxi: 25 minutes no traffic

Public transportation (1hr): Take Bus 62 to Newark Station, transfer to PATH towards World Trade Center and get off at Journal Square, transfer to PATH towards 33rd Street and get off at Newport

From JFK International Airport

Taxi: 1 hr 15 minutes no traffic

Public transportation (1hr30min): Take AirTrain JFK Red to Jamaica Station, transfer to Subway E Line towards World Trade Center and get off at Chambers street, transfer to Train PATH towards Hoboken and get off at Newport

From LGA Airport

Taxi: 50min no traffic

Public transportation (1hr 20min): Take Bus Q70 to Victor Moore Term/Q47 stand, transfer to Subway F Line towards Kings Hwy and get off at 23 street, transfer to PATH towards Journal Square and get off at Newport

How to pay for public transportation

A metro card can take you almost anywhere in the Metro NYC area through the MTA Bus, subway, and NJ transit systems. You can buy metro cards in airports, subway stations, convenient stores, and sometimes off-street at bus stations. A ride is $2.75 with unlimited transfers within the subway system, or one free transfer between buses or between subway and bus.
