Russell Almond
RussellAlmond? was a student of Art Dempster and did his thesis on applying
GraphicalBeliefFunctions? to problems of estimating system reliability. The disertation was later published as
Graphical Belief Modeling. The software package
BELIEF was part of the dissertation, and the later never released software
GRAPHICAL-BELIEF included several innovative ideas for user interface in model construction.
RussellAlmond? currently works at
Educational Testing Service . His current research has centered around using [Bayesian networks] for scoring tests and [intelligent tutoring systems]. Along with collegues
Bob Mislevy and Linda Steinberg he is responsible for the early development of [Evidence Centered Design].
RussellAlmond? was chair of the
UAIApplicationWorkshop in 2005.
