Russell Almond

RussellAlmond^? was a student of Art Dempster and did his thesis on applying GraphicalBeliefFunctions^? to problems of estimating system reliability. The disertation was later published as Graphical Belief Modeling. The software package BELIEF was part of the dissertation, and the later never released software GRAPHICAL-BELIEF included several innovative ideas for user interface in model construction.

RussellAlmond^? currently works at Educational Testing Service . His current research has centered around using [Bayesian networks] for scoring tests and [intelligent tutoring systems]. Along with collegues Bob Mislevy and Linda Steinberg he is responsible for the early development of [Evidence Centered Design].

RussellAlmond^? was chair of the UAIApplicationWorkshop in 2005.
